Job summary

St Basil’s Homes SA in South Australia is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our not-for-profit aged care team on a casual basis, delivering high-quality clinical care within a supportive, values-driven environment.

You’ll report to the Registered Nurse, work independently and with colleagues, and be involved in medication rounds, wound care, infection control and resident documentation to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing with full AHPRA registration (no restrictions).
• First Aid and CPR qualifications up to date.
• Warm and empathetic approach; strong values and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality clinical care to residents in your ‘house’ area in line with Model of Care.
• Be responsible for the health and well-being of residents.
• Check medications and undertake medication rounds where required.
• Engage with families and stakeholders to build relationships and act as a family contact for clinical discussions.
• Demonstrate leadership in infection control, manual handling and care provision principles.
• Model best practices to optimise residents' quality of life.
• Observe, upscale and document changes in residents to the Registered Nurse.
• Complete simple wound care and administer medications per policies.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward thinking, progressive Aged Care organisation as an Enrolled Nurse, on a casual basis. You will report to the Registered Nurse and will excel in providing exceptional care and service excellence. You will work both independently and as part of a team, thriving in a fast-paced environment where your efforts make a tangible difference to our residents. With innovative and creative thinking, you will identify ways to work more effectively, ensuring you provide the best possible care. Your professionalism and strong moral values will shine through in everything you do.

What you’ll do and be responsible for:

• Provide quality clinical care to the residents in your ‘house’ area, in line with our Model of Care

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Diploma of Nursing with full AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
• Up to date qualifications in First Aid and CPR
• A warm and empathetic approach
• Comprehensive clinical knowledge of the ageing process & health and a working knowledge of relevant Aged Care legislation
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; listening, written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive and energetic style with the enthusiasm to learn and develop

It would be helpful if you had (but is not essential to apply for the role):

• 1-3 years experience as an Enrolled Nurse
• Experience working in Aged Care
• A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to apply)
