Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland invites applications for an Enrolled Nurse in the Casual Pool at St Stephens Hospital, Hervey Bay. You will support the Registered Nurse in delivering holistic, high-quality patient care and promote a safe, compassionate hospital environment.

This casual role offers flexible hours across a 24/7 roster, with opportunities to develop clinical skills in General Medical/Surgical and Cardiac care, while benefiting from salary packaging and non-profit salary loading.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Nursing or equivalent required with AHPRA registration.
  • Experience in hospital acute care settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and high quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care under supervision of Registered Nurse.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe clinical environment and follow risk management practices.
  • Support efficient rostering and staffing needs within the casual pool.

Your part in our St Stephens team

As part of ourCasual Pool, you will work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to deliver safe and holistic care to individuals and their families, applying best clinical practice and ensuring a safe environment foroptimalpatient outcomes. In addition to this you will:

  • Deliver exceptional person-centredcare by working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary team, applying exceptional communication and customer service skills.

  • Apply sound clinicalpracticewhichensuresa safe environment andpromotesoptimal patient health.

  • Effectively exchange information with the Registered Nurseregardingpatient responses to treatment and nursing care.

  • Demonstrate application of the principles of clinical and workplace risk management.

  • Achieveoptimumpatient care through effective collaboration with other health professionals and coordination of care.

  • Achievesoptimalpatient outcomes throughappropriate allocationof staff and delegation of work and effective communication skills.

What makes a difference for us?

  • Diploma of Nursing degree or equivalent and AHPRA registration, with a minimum of12 monthspost-graduate experience withinan acute, hospital setting

  • Experience in one or more of the following clinical areas: General Medical/Surgical, High Dependency/Cardiac, Rehabilitation

  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, withdemonstratedknowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices

  • A commitment to patient safety and quality improvements and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
