Job summary

Cairns Central Medical is seeking a part-time Enrolled Nurse to join our friendly team at Cairns Central Shopping Centre. Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, triage support, and treatment preparation.
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms.
• Administer immunisations, wound care, and other nursing procedures as authorised.
• Support chronic disease management activities and care plan coordination.
• Conduct health assessments and clinical measurements (e.g. ECG, spirometry, audiometry).

Part-Time Registered Nurse – Cairns Central Medical

Location: Cairns Central Shopping Centre, 1–21 McLeod Street, Cairns, QLD 4870

Cairns Central Medical is a long-established, AGPAL-accredited medical practice located within Cairns Central Shopping Centre. Supported by a collaborative team of GPs, nurses, and healthcare professionals, the clinic is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the local community.

We are currently seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in a permanent part-time capacity of up to 30 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse range of clinical services, including immunisations, health assessments, chronic disease management, minor procedures, and treatment room support, while building valuable experience within a busy general practice environment.

About the Role

As an Enrolled Nurse at Cairns Central Medical, you will play an important role in supporting our GPs and delivering high-quality patient care within a busy general practice environment. Working collaboratively with the clinical team and within your scope of practice, your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with patient care, triage support, and treatment preparation


• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms


• Administering immunisations, wound care, and other nursing procedures as authorised


• Supporting chronic disease management activities and care plan coordination


• Conducting health assessments and clinical measurements (e.g. ECG, spirometry, and audiometry)


• Assisting with minor procedures and patient follow-up


• Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation


• Providing patient education, health promotion, and support

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse


• Previous experience in General Practice, Primary Care, or a similar healthcare setting is highly regarded but not essential


• Demonstrated clinical and procedural nursing skills within your scope of practice


• Excellent communication and patient-care abilities


• Experience using clinical software systems, or the willingness to learn


• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
