Job summary

Masada College seeks an outstanding English Leader to head the English Faculty for Years 7–12. The role focuses on delivering a contemporary and rigorous English curriculum, modelling exemplary practice and guiding curriculum design and assessment across the senior cycle.

The Head of Learning Area: English will collaborate with senior academic leaders to support high student achievement, data-informed decision making and a culture of thinking that embeds ethical use of digital technologies,

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications.
• Full academic transcripts available ahead of interview.
• Current NSW Working With Children Check clearance.
• Current NESA accreditation.
• Demonstrated experience teaching secondary English.
• Experience teaching Stage 6 English (HSC).
• Leadership of English is highly desirable.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid Australian work visa.

Responsibilities

• Lead the English Faculty across Years 7–12, building a high-performing team.
• Design, implement and review English programs aligned with NSW/NESA requirements.
• Drive student achievement, data-informed planning and curriculum design.
• Mentor teachers, coordinate assessment, moderation and feedback.
• Collaborate with Heads of Learning and Teaching to realise college priorities.
