Job summary

Core Talent Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Data Cabling Technicians to join major projects across Canberra. These roles are available on both labour hire and permanent bases, offering work on data centre and critical infrastructure projects in a professional, fast-paced environment.

You will install, terminate, test and commission structured cabling systems, read project drawings, and work with project teams to meet deadlines while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• ACMA Cabling Registration is required.
• White Card and Australian working rights.
• Experience with Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic cabling.
• Background in data centres, commercial construction or critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install structured data cabling and terminations.

Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Data Cabling Technicians to join a number of major projects across Canberra.
These opportunities are available on both a labour hire and permanent basis, offering the chance to work on high-profile data centre and critical infrastructure projects in a professional, fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Working as part of an experienced project team, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing and commissioning of structured cabling systems across large-scale sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing structured data cabling, including Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic systems
• Fibre optic installation, termination, testing and fault finding
• Working with MPO/MTP and high-density cabling systems
• Installing and dressing cabling within racks, cabinets and data centre environments
• Reading and interpreting project drawings, plans, specifications and scopes of work
• Working alongside Project Managers, Supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality
• Completing installation and testing documentationWorking within established site safety and HSEQ requirements
• Communicating professionally with clients, supervisors and other site personnel
• Identifying and resolving installation issues as they arise
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from experienced technicians who have a background in structured cabling, telecommunications, data centres or critical infrastructure.

You will ideally have:

• Current ACMA Cabling Registration
• Appropriate endorsements for Structured, Fibre Optic and Coaxial cabling
• Experience working with Cat6/Cat6A and fibre
• Previous experience within data centres, commercial construction or major infrastructure projects
• A strong understanding of cabling standards, installation practices and testing requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• The ability to read drawings and work from project specifications
• Good communication and stakeholder skills
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A current White Card
• Australian working rights
