Job summary

Western Power is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to steer the Design Delivery of substation projects in Perth. You will lead a multidisciplinary team across primary, secondary, civil/structural and customer connections, ensuring designs meet safety, cost, and schedule targets.

In this role you will balance technical leadership with people leadership, coordinate with internal and external partners, drive standardisation and continuous improvement, and support the energy transition across WA's

Qualifications

• Leadership and people management experience in engineering.
• Strong knowledge of substation design standards and regulations.
• Experience in design governance and delivery across multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, scoping, and delivery of design programs for substations.
• Oversee external design partners to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Provide technical direction across primary, secondary, civil/structural, and customer connection disciplines.
• Manage outsourced design services and delivery partners.
• Monitor performance, workload, quality, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and project teams to achieve outcomes.
• Contribute to standard designs, templates and engineering guides.
