This is a unique opportunity to step into an engineering leadership position supporting the sustainment of over 250 Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment asset types.
As the Engineering Team Lead - Recurring Services, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers responsible for delivering safe, timely and effective engineering outcomes that maximise asset availability and operational capability.
With a strong focus on engineering management, you’ll oversee technical investigations, analysis, risk assessments and decision‑making, while ensuring engineering activities are delivered to the required standards, quality, cost and schedule. Working across a complex defence environment, you’ll lead the delivery and review of a range of critical engineering artefacts, including Engineering Responses, Engineering Change Proposals, Hazard Logs, Safety Case Reports and Test & Evaluation Plans.
You’ll also play an important role in continuous improvement, ensuring engineering processes, technical documentation and through‑life knowledge management support the long‑term sustainment of Defence capability.
You’re a collaborative and influential engineering leader who enjoys developing people while delivering high quality technical outcomes, within a complex, regulated environment.
You’ll bring a strong understanding of engineering governance, product safety, risk management and lifecycle engineering, along with the ability to confidently navigate technical challenges.
You’ll thrive in stakeholder facing environments, being comfortable engaging with customers, technical authorities and stakeholders at all levels, while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across Babcock.
With a continuous improvement mindset, you’ll contribute to succession planning, talent development and innovative engineering solutions that strengthen our sustainable engineering capability and support the delivery of critical Defence outcomes.
