Job summary

Alliance Automation in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead delivery of control systems and automation projects across mining, water, and heavy industry. You’ll work with clients, engineers and delivery teams from concept to commissioning.

You’ll combine strong project and commercial management with technical understanding of PLC and SCADA, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage risks, and build lasting client relationships in a growing Australian business.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing engineering, automation or control systems projects.
• Strong project planning, resource management and commercial capability.
• Experience within Mining & Resources, Water & Wastewater, Heavy Industry or similar environments.
• Sound technical understanding of PLC, SCADA and industrial control systems.
• Strong client engagement, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead engineering teams and make decisions when it counts.

Responsibilities

• Leading engineering and automation projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Taking ownership of project scope, budgets, schedules, resources and commercial outcomes.
• Working closely with clients to understand operations, challenges and project objectives.
• Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Overseeing design, development, integration and delivery of PLC, SCADA and control system solutions.
• Proactively managing project risks, variations and priorities.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and with strong commercial discipline.
• Building trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value.

The Opportunity

Alliance Automation is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Brisbane team. You’ll lead the delivery of control systems and automation projects across sectors including Mining & Resources, Water & Wastewater and Heavy Industry, working alongside some of Australia’s leading industrial businesses.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll take projects from concept through to commissioning, bringing together clients, engineers and delivery teams to achieve great outcomes. You’ll have the autonomy to lead, make decisions and build strong client relationships, backed by one of Australia’s leading automation delivery businesses.

What You’ll Be Doing
