Job summary

Eagles Engineers in Australia is seeking a Package Manager to take end-to-end design leadership and delivery ownership of the Bulk Substation packages on a major project. You will lead a design team and manage interfaces with clients and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will coordinate across disciplines to deliver a single integrated design solution on time and within budget, mentoring the Assistant Package Manager and ensuring compliance with technical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status (CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent) highly desirable
• 12+ years' experience in power systems/transmission and substation design and delivery
• Proven experience delivering transmission line, bulk supply and/or primary substation design packages within an EPC, EPCM or engineering consultancy environment
• Strong working knowledge of contract administration (NEC, FIDIC or AS-based forms) and project controls (cost, schedule, change management)

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the design and delivery of the Bulk Substation and Primary Substations package(s), including scope, schedule, budget and quality
• Develop and own the package delivery plan and design programme, integrating inputs from internal discipline teams and the VAAP Energy design production partner
• Lead the technical design of the, bulk substation and primary substations, ensuring compliance with client, statutory and Eagles Engineers technical standard
• Maintain oversight of protection, control, SCADA and grid connection interfaces relevant to the package
• Own and manage design interfaces with the Package Manager - Transmission Lines maintaining current interface schedules and information exchange registers
• Manage package cost forecasting, budget performance and change management in conjunction with project controls
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders on package matters
• Manager and oversee Assistant Package Manager

A new opportunity now exists for a Package Manager to take end-to-end design leadership and delivery ownership of the Bulk Substation and Primary Substations package(s) on a major project. You'll be accountable for delivering the package safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical and quality standard leading the package design team, including the Assistant Package Manager, and owning the delivery plan, technical assurance, and client and contractual interfaces.

You'll work closely with engineering disciplines to drive coordination and interface management, ensuring a single, fully integrated design solution across the project. As line manager for the Assistant Package Manager, you'll be directly responsible for their performance, development, and day-to-day direction. You'll report to the Design Manager, who holds overall responsibility for design coordination across the project.
