Job summary

Altrad Glasgow is seeking an experienced Engineering P&S Support to develop and maintain governance, assurance, and organisational arrangements within a complex engineering environment. Hybrid working with on-site presence in Helensburgh is required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, science, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards registration.
  • Experience in engineering management, assurance, or governance in regulated settings.
  • Knowledge of governance, assurance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience developing engineering procedures or organizational processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-disciplinary communication.
  • Excellent written governance documentation skills.

Engineering P&S Support- Glasgow
Hybrid - minimum of 2 days per week based on site in Helensburgh.

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Engineering P&S Support to join the team.

About The Role

As Engineering P&S Support, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining engineering governance, technical assurance, and organisational arrangements within a complex engineering environment. Working alongside engineering, programme, and compliance teams, you will help establish robust engineering management processes, support organisational development, and ensure engineering activities align with industry standards and business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence engineering strategy and governance across a range of infrastructure and engineering programmes.

Key Deliverables
  • Support the development and implementation of engineering governance, organisational structures, and management arrangements.
  • Produce and maintain engineering policies, procedures, standards, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop engineering assurance and governance processes that support safe and effective programme delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear engineering roles, responsibilities, and interfaces.
  • Support the development of technical authority and engineering assurance arrangements.
  • Provide engineering management support to programme and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, governance documentation, briefing papers, and technical guidance for senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor the implementation of engineering arrangements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Degree in an engineering, scientific, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
  • Experience in engineering management, technical assurance, or engineering governance within a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering governance, technical assurance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience developing engineering procedures, governance arrangements, or organisational processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience producing technical and governance documentation.
Desirable
  • Experience within defence, nuclear, infrastructure, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of Design Authority, Technical Authority, or Intelligent Customer principles.
  • Experience with design reviews, technical assurance, configuration management, or engineering acceptance processes.
  • Familiarity with engineering governance frameworks, organisational strategy, or delegated authority models.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement and organisational development initiatives.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety principles or engineering assurance within high-hazard environments.
