Job summary

Qantas is offering a 6-month fixed-term leadership opportunity within Engineering's Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC). As the MOC Duty Manager, you will lead a non-shift engineering team, act as the escalation point for Engineering, and drive alignment between airworthiness, operations, and commercial goals.

You will influence critical decisions, develop succession plans, and expand your leadership exposure in a high-visibility operational role at Qantas.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership and management experience.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff.
• Strong decision-maker with prioritisation and negotiation skills.
• Experience with Civil aviation regulations and industrial workforce management.
• Willingness to work a flexible roster including potential 7-day coverage.
• Engineering or Business Management qualification relevant to role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a non-shift team of engineering specialists to maintain airworthiness.
• Act as primary escalation point and operational focal for Engineering.
• Balance airworthiness, operational performance and commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with IOC Operations and Flight Operations to influence decisions.
