Job summary

Refactor is partnering with a household Australian digital marketplace to hire an Engineering Manager who will own engineering execution across the platform. You’ll guide a small, experienced team through a modernisation journey while balancing architecture, delivery, and commercial priorities.

The role is based on the Gold Coast/Brisbane, hybrid with 2 days in office, and relocation assistance is available to support your move.

Qualifications

• You're an Engineering Manager or senior engineering leader with product-led technology experience.
• Experience across marketplaces, e-commerce, B2B SaaS or another customer-facing digital platform would translate well.
• Strong technical credibility across modern web engineering and cloud; not hunting for the world's most enthusiastic architecture astronaut.
• Commercial judgement matters; you’ll balance technical solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead an established, distributed engineering team across the platform.
• Drive the progressive modernisation of the platform and architecture decisions.
• Translate commercial priorities into engineering outcomes.
• Work with Product to turn ideas into shipped outcomes and drive reliability and quality.
