Qualifications

• You have a genuine passion for people leadership, coaching, and mentorship.
• You have experience managing engineering teams, including 1:1s, performance management, growth and development, and hiring.
• You lead with empathy and create a safe environment where people can do their best work.
• You’re always looking for ways to improve processes, systems, and how the team works together.
• You have strong collaboration skills working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and senior technical leaders.
• You have strong technical depth across system design, software architecture, and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, owning team health, performance, and development
• Partner with tech leads and staff engineers, who own technical direction, to ensure the team delivers against the roadmap
• Support team members’ growth through regular feedback, coaching, and tailored development opportunities
• Manage team performance, including supporting high performers and addressing underperformance with care
• Drive a strong team culture - feedback, inclusion, and continuous improvement of ways of working
• Identify and remove blockers - process, organisational, or interpersonal - to keep the team moving forward smoothly
• Partner with the Talent team to help hire great engineers and actively support new hires during onboarding to set them up for success
