Job summary

Netwealth is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Melbourne to lead a high-performing software team and partner with Product Managers, Architects and Engineering Leaders. You will drive secure, scalable cloud-native solutions that deliver real value for Australian advisers and investors.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and cultivate a culture of learning, collaboration and ownership while advancing engineering practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading high-performing software engineering teams.
• Ability to shape technical direction and architecture across product domains.
• Proven track record delivering secure, cloud-native systems at scale.
• Strong DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC.

Responsibilities

You’ll lead a high-performing software engineering team within one of our product domains, partnering with Product Managers, Architects and Engineering Leaders to deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions that create genuine value for our customers. You’ll help shape technical direction, influence architecture, improve engineering practices and create an environment where ownership, quality and innovation thrive.

What You'll Bring

You’ll bring a blend of technical depth, leadership capability and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.

We're particularly interested in leaders with expertise across:

• Building and leading high-performing software engineering teams.
• Modern software architecture including microservices, distributed systems and event-driven design.
• Cloud-native development, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
• DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automated quality practices.
• Enterprise integrations using APIs, SaaS platforms and authentication frameworks.
• Agile delivery within cross-functional Scrum teams.
• Stakeholder management, technical leadership and influencing outcomes across multiple teams.
