Engineering Manager - Electrical & Controls

A cutting-edge clean energy technology company is seeking an Engineering Manager to play a critical role in the development, design and implementation of its control systems and electrical infrastructure. This is a hands‑on leadership position, responsible for guiding a small team and driving the design, integration, and optimisation of this structured electrical and software development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of electrical and distributed control systems for complex energy systems
  • Develop functional specifications, architecture, and structured engineering documentation to support product development
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small team of electrical and control systems engineers
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, software, and systems engineering
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement robust engineering solutions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to product innovation
About You
  • Proven experience in electrical and control systems engineering within power generation, renewables, or industrial process environments
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, either formally or as a technical lead
  • Strong understanding of structured engineering design and development practices
  • Experience with PLCs (IEC 61131 environments), industrial networking, and control system integration
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, structured cabling, and distributed control systems
  • Comfortable working across both Windows and Linux operating environments
