Job summary

Bendigo Bank is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing teams in our Core Technology Modernisation space, guiding development and operations of critical platforms for our bank and customers.

In this role you’ll foster a collaborative environment, support team growth, and partner with Technical Product Owners to shape an inspiring backlog. Hybrid work options and a strong focus on regulatory compliance support career development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead, with an excellent track record of leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
  • A technical background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in a modern banking or financial services tech stack.
  • Proficiency in real-time stream processing and handling large-scale datasets for behavioural analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience with core banking platforms and workflows and implementing new ways of working.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment, preferably Australian financial services (with knowledge of APRA standards).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align teams and leaders across the organisation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, managing technical roadmaps and backlogs.

What you’ll bring to the role
