Job summary

Bendigo Bank is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Core Technology Modernisation teams, guiding development and operation of critical platforms for customers. You’ll foster a collaborative environment and empower engineers to deliver scalable, secure systems in a regulated financial services context.

You will mentor teams, work closely with Product Owners, and drive quality across pipelines, ensuring delivery excellence while supporting growth and diverse, inclusive teams.

What you'll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead, with an excellent track record of leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
• A technical background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in a modern banking or financial services tech stack.
• Proficiency in real-time stream processing and handling large-scale datasets for behavioural analysis.
• Demonstrable experience with core banking platforms and workflows and implementing new ways of working.
• Experience working within a highly regulated environment, preferably Australian financial services (with knowledge of APRA standards).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align teams and leaders across the organisation.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, managing technical roadmaps and backlogs.
