Job summary
Regional Group Australia is seeking an Engineering Geologist to manage quarry exploration, geological modelling and mine planning across eastern Australia. The role combines office and site work with travel between Sydney and other eastern locations after training.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor of Science in Geology, 2+ years in surface extractive industries, GIS proficiency, and strong communication skills to support operations and geotechnical risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or related field.
- Minimum 2 years in surface extractive industries (quarrying/mining).
- Experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Competent in common Office software.
- Valid and current Class C driving licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage quarry exploration programmes.
- Supervise drilling campaigns and geological logging.
- Review data to produce geological models and assess rock quality.
- Provide mine planning and design services to operations teams.
- Update geological and spatial data for sites.
- Undertake reserve and resource assessments; manage ledger.
