Commonwealth Bank is seeking an Engineering Executive Manager for Group Security (Data & Software Engineering) to lead about 50 engineers and drive the transition to a modern enterprise data platform powered by Snowflake and integrated with AWS.

You will provide people and technical leadership, strengthen capability across Data and Software Engineering, and partner with senior stakeholders to navigate complex platform transformations while protecting customers and communities.

Qualifikationen

• Lead a number of teams of engineers across Data and Software Engineering disciplines within Group Security.
• Lead the transition to a modern enterprise data platform powered by Snowflake and integrated with AWS services.
• Build engineering capability that helps protect CommBank, our customers and communities.
• Strong Snowflake experience, coupled with experience across AWS data technologies.
• Experience owning both engineering capability and the delivery and operation of applications or platforms.
• Strong stakeholder leadership, with the ability to influence, constructively challenge and create direction where priorities are shifting or problems are ambiguous.
• Experience operating in large-scale data environments where security, risk, resilience and data constraints are important considerations.
• A self-starting, outcome-focused leadership style, with the technical judgement to challenge architecture, delivery and operational decisions while empowering engineering teams to own implementation.
• Experience working in a security or cyber security environment, or demonstrated knowledge of security concepts and practices, would be advantageous.

• Provide engineering leadership across a complex, enterprise-scale data platform transition.
• Guide the evolution of our data engineering capability across Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, S3 and dbt, alongside modern software engineering practices.
• Maintain accountability for software applications developed and operated by the team while progressing strategic platform transformation.
• Champion high standards of engineering quality, security, resilience, automation and operational excellence.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Group Security to navigate ambiguity, changing priorities and complex technology decisions.
• Create clarity through periods of change, keeping engineering teams focused on security, customer and business outcomes.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and technical excellence.
