Job summary

Scope Engineering Services Pty Ltd – Narangba QLD is seeking an experienced Engineering draftsperson to join the design team to deliver crushing plant projects and upgrades for quarry and mining sectors. You will produce plant arrangements and 3D models using Autodesk software.

Responsibilities include developing 3D models, fabrication drawings, and documentation for procurement, fabrication and installation, plus liaising with design, workshop and project teams on site.

Qualifications

• Experience creating 3D plant arrangements and 2D fabrication drawings.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and fabrication techniques.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Navisworks.

• Prepare fabrication drawings, material processing files and schedules, equipment schedules and documentation for procurement, fabrication and installation.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering draftsperson to join our design team and contribute to the delivery of crushing plant projects and upgrades for the quarry and mining sector.

The Role:

As an engineering draftsperson, you will produce plant arrangements, 3D models and drawing packages utilising Autodesk software. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our designers, project managers, workshop and site crew from initial design to install of plant equipment.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Develop 3D models, fabrication detail drawing packages and general arrangements.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, material processing files and schedules, equipment schedules and documentation for procurement, fabrication and installation.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure plants are designed practically for appropriate access, installation, serviceability for maintenance and lifting activities.
• Liaise with design team, workshop and project team to resolve drafting and design queries in house and on site.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate who ideally has the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Strong capability using Autodesk software such as Inventor, AutoCAD and Navisworks
• Proven knowledge and experience in quarry, mining and/or materials handling industries
• Experience producing 3D plant arrangements and 2D fabrication drawing packages
• Ability to utilise point clouds in design to develop and produce 3D models
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, fabrication and construction techniques, as well as detailing practices
• Liaising with fabrication teams to ensure the project and product are to specifications.
• Heavy industry experience in the quarry and/or mining industry is highly desirable.
