Work alongside experienced engineering professionals to support the planning, construction and management of vital community infrastructure projects, spanning roads, water, sewer, drainage and flood management.
In this role, you will provide support to Senior Engineers, Coordinators and Managers in a diverse range of Planning, Policy, Design, Construction, Contact Management, Project Management, and Operations areas relating to water supply and sewerage services.
The Engineer - Water and Wastewater Design is a professional position with experience and knowledge in the fields of hydraulic, water supply and sewerage conveyancing.

- Work across a variety of units and sections within the Engineering Division, gaining broad exposure to local government engineering functions.
- Participate in rotational opportunities across the Division, providing valuable experience and supporting career development within Council.

- Build strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills through regular interaction with consultants, contractors, Councillors, staff and community members.
- Take part in ongoing performance, training and development activities, with opportunities to undertake higher duties as required.

We are seeking:
- A qualified Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia, or equivalent technical experience and expertise.
- Experience supporting the design and delivery of engineering infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of water supply and sewerage infrastructure, including planning, design and construction principles.
- A genuine interest in developing skills across a diverse range of local government engineering functions.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
