Job summary

DRA Global Brisbane is seeking a Process Engineer with minerals processing design experience to join our team. You will contribute to studies, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational support across domestic and international projects.

You will work with a seasoned Process Department team, delivering high‑quality technical outputs, mass/energy balances, and P&IDs while aligning with Australian standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–8 years' experience in mineral processing design and project delivery (EPCM preferred).
• Experience in mineral processing plant design for base metals, critical minerals or gold.
• Experience with process engineering design: mass balances, P&IDs and technical specs.
• Experience with process modelling tools such as MetSim or SysCAD.
• Working knowledge of Australian and international engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Support process engineering activities across studies and projects with timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Develop mass/energy balances, P&IDs, process flow diagrams and equipment specs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors and contractors.
• Contribute to design optimisation: safety, constructability, schedule and cost.

About the Role:

Seeking a Process Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team. The ideal candidate will have experience in minerals process plant design and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across studies and projects.

Reporting to the Process Department Manager, you will work within a highly experienced team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of domestic and international projects spanning concept studies, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of process engineering activities across studies and projects, ensuring the timely completion of high-quality technical deliverables.


• Develop and contribute to key process engineering documentation, including mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing and technical specifications.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors and contractors to support successful project outcomes.


• Contribute to the optimisation of project design, safety, constructability, schedule and cost performance.


• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical risk assessments.


• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices within the minerals processing sector.

Key Criteria

• Degree qualification in Chemical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.


• 3-8 years' experience in mineral processing design and project delivery, preferably within an EPCM environment.


• Experience in the design of mineral processing plants, particularly within base metals, critical minerals and/or gold processing industries – Advantageous.


• Experience in process engineering design, including mass balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs and technical specifications. – Essential.


• Experience with process modelling and simulation software such as MetSim®, SysCAD or similar – Advantageous.


• Working knowledge of Australian and international engineering standards and regulatory requirements.


• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.


• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities to meet project deadlines.
