Job summary

DRA Global is seeking a Process Engineer for our Brisbane-based team to contribute to minerals processing design across studies and projects. You will work under the Process Department Manager on a portfolio spanning concept studies through to commissioning and operational support.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to deliver high-quality, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions in the minerals sector.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Chemical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3-8 years' experience in mineral processing design and project delivery, preferably in an EPCM environment.
  • Experience in mineral processing plant design, especially base metals, critical minerals or gold processing.
  • Experience with process modelling and simulation software such as MetSim or SysCAD is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of process engineering activities across studies and projects, ensuring timely completion of high-quality technical deliverables.
  • Develop and contribute to key process engineering documentation, including mass and energy balances, P&IDs, process flow diagrams and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors and contractors to support successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the optimisation of project design, safety, constructability, schedule and cost performance.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical risk assessments.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices in minerals processing.

About The Role

Seeking a Process Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team. The ideal candidate will have experience in minerals process plant design and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across studies and projects.

Reporting to the Process Department Manager, you will work within a highly experienced team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of domestic and international projects spanning concept studies, detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational support.

Responsibilities

Key Criteria
  • Degree qualification in Chemical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3-8 years' experience in mineral processing design and project delivery, preferably within an EPCM environment.
  • Experience in the design of mineral processing plants, particularly within base metals, critical minerals and/or gold processing industries – Advantageous.
  • Experience in process engineering design, including mass balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs and technical specifications. – Essential.
  • Experience with process modelling and simulation software such as MetSim®, SysCAD or similar – Advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Australian and international engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities to meet project deadlines.
