Job summary

WeBuild is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to manage onsite technical matters including planning, forecasting and resource management for large-scale marine construction projects.

You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance, and report progress against schedule and budget. Strong MS Office skills and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• White Card is required.
• Driver's License is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in marine construction & dredging on large-scale projects.
• Advanced MS Office skills and ability to interpret schedules and docs.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction methodologies, programmes and SWMS for packages.
• Lead delivery of stage3 excavation, ground support and dredging works with the project team.
• Oversee development and implementation of onsite construction methods with Senior PM and Construction Superintendent.
• Monitor productivity and cost weekly and monthly and report findings.
• Procure permanent materials/Subcontracts as needed.
• Ensure Site Engineers understand responsibilities and provide regular feedback for performance.

Job description

Tobe responsible forall onsite technical matters including construction verification works. You will schedule, monitor, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality.

Assistthe construction department in the coordination of efficient operation of a multi-discipline workforce, combining direct workforce, supplementary labour, and external subcontractors. Coordinate and ensure compliance of all relevant design, safety, quality, community, environmental and sustainability related deliverables and documentation.

Experience:

• Minimum 5-years' experience working in theMarineConstruction& Dredgingindustry on large scale projects or other suitable projects works - preferred.
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Competence in interpreting and explaining technical schedules and documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and reporting against cost and time.
• Strong understanding of programme management, deadlines, and budget controls
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast-paced project environment and deliver on deadlines.
• Strong attitude and awareness of safety and focus and commitment to azero-harmenvironment.
• Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages with Tier 1 construction contractors.
• Prior experience indredging,underwaterdrill and blast, ground support and stabilisation works are preferred.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Develop construction methodologies,programmeand SWMS for given packages
• Leading the delivery of packages of stage3excavation, groundsupportanddredging works, while coordinating with the wider project team
• Oversee the development and implementation of construction methods onsite in consultation with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Superintendent
• Daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and cost monitoring and reporting
• The procuring of permanent materials/Subcontracts
• Ensure Site Engineers, and subordinates, are clear on their responsibilities - provide regular feedback to ensure effective performance and develop team members for succession opportunities.
• Manage the short/medium construction planning for the works including development of 6WLAH.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and key project personnel and ensure buy in to safety and quality strategies.
• Develop QAQC Lot Maps
• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that the project is safely deliveredin accordance withtime, budget, and quality requirements.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate andmonitorthe assigned engineering projects.
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performancestandardsand specifications
• Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide technical support.
• Review engineering deliverables andinitiateappropriate correctiveactions.
• Preparation and coordination of personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure effective mobilisation to the site.
• Undertake the preparation of variations including taking off quantities and pricing.
• Coordinate and ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community and environmental related deliverables and documentation.
• Produce any related studies or documentation and method statements asrequired.
• Monitor, document and report, physical progress against schedule and any delays/interference which may have affected progress.
• Liaise with client representatives, Senior Project Engineers, ProjectEngineersand Site Supervision in relation to permits to work, JHA's, ITP, and any other requirements to enable thetimelycompletion of the work.
• Ensure that all systems procedures, statutory requirements, engineeringstandardsand sound construction practices are alwayscomplied with.
• Ensure all day works, variations and other claims and accurately recorded and reported and liaise with contract administration to ensure all financial entitlements of the company are protected.
• Actively pursue any gaps in engineering information that may leave the companyexposed, oralternatively propose and agree through the proper channels a solution to the problem.
