Job summary

SMEC Services Pty Limited in Sydney, NSW, is seeking an Engineer – Drainage & Flooding, Roads & Highways with 2+ years of experience to join the NSW team on permanent infrastructure projects. You will contribute to drainage design and flood modelling for major projects, collaborating with engineers to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet client and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified – Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering or similar).
• 2+ years of Australian experience in drainage design and stormwater management.
• Exposure to infrastructure projects (roads, highways, rail or urban development).
• Familiarity with Austroads Part 5, 5A & 5B and Australian Rainfall and Runoff guideline 2019.
• Working knowledge of 12d Dynamic Drainage Analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

The Role

We are currently seeking an Engineer – Drainage & Flooding, Roads & Highways with experience in transport or infrastructure projects to join our Sydney team. This is a permanent opportunity supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across NSW and nationally.

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a Drainage professional with an interest in drainage design and flood modelling to contribute to a highly capable multidisciplinary team.

With 2+ years’ experience, this is an opportunity to further develop your technical skills, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver high‑quality analysis and design outcomes that meet client and industry standards.

You will have gained your experience within an engineering consultancy (or similar environment) and bring a collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the discipline.

About You

Suitable applicants will have:
