Job summary

Bravus Mining and Resources is seeking an Engineer – Contracts & Analytics to monitor contractor performance at Carmichael Mine.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or similar with strong analytical capability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for large datasets and trends.
  • Advanced Excel and interest in data visualization, dashboards and business systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail for accurate reports and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, SAP, Pronto or similar systems is highly regarded.
  • Current Standard 11, Queensland Coal Board Medical and QLD Class C Driver Licence, or ability to obtain site access.

Job description

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Mine Contracts, the Engineer – Contracts & Analytics will support the monitoring, analysis and reporting of contractor performance across the Carmichael Mine. This role is responsible for turning operational and contractual data into clear insights that support informed decision making, contractor performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Working closely with Mine Contracts, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Commercial, Finance and contractor representatives, you will collect, validate and analyse data from multiple sources, develop dashboards and reports, monitor key performance indicators, identify trends and risks, and prepare reporting that supports operational and commercial outcomes.

This position is based at the Carmichael Mine in Central Queensland’s Galilee Basin and is offered oneight days on, six days off (8 / 6) FIFO roster. The ideal candidate wouldFIFOout ofTownsville, RockhamptonorMackay(a flight time of 55 minutes). Candidates who live in the Isaac region also have the option to drive-in and drive-out.

The role will suit an analytical and detail-focused engineering professional who is interested in contract performance, data visualisation, reporting systems and business improvement in a large-scale mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, validate and analyse operational and contractual data to support contractor performance monitoring
  • Develop, maintain and improve dashboards, reports and presentations that provide clear performance insights
  • Monitor key performance indicators, service standards and contractual obligations across contractor agreements
  • Identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities for operational and commercial improvement
  • Assist with contract reviews, contractor performance meetings and compliance audits
  • Prepare accurate reports, analysis and performance summaries, while improving reporting processes through automation and data quality improvements
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and contractor representatives to validate findings and support performance improvement
About You

You are a curious and analytical engineering professional who enjoys working with data, systems and stakeholders to solve problems and improve performance. You have strong attention to detail, communicate clearly and are confident interpreting data to produce meaningful insights for operational and commercial teams.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • A degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or another engineering discipline with strong analytical capability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify meaningful trends
  • Advanced Excel capability and an interest in data visualisation, dashboard reporting and business systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate reports, presentations and performance summaries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data insights clearly to operational and commercial stakeholders
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, SAP, Pronto or similar business systems will be highly regarded but is not essential
  • Current Standard 11, Queensland Coal Board Medical and QLD Class C Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain required site access requirements prior to commencement.
