Job summary

Pursuited, on behalf of an industry-leading civil construction and remediation business, invites applications for an Engineer role spanning graduate to Project Engineer levels. The position supports multiple sites across FNQ with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The role requires a degree in Engineering or Construction Management, up to 5 years of relevant experience, and licences including OH&S and a valid Driver's licence. Travel to on-site locations will be necessary.

  • 1-5 years' experience in civil engineering, remediation or construction.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Construction Industry OH&S Induction Card.
  • Suitable working rights (visa).

This client is an industry-leading tier 2 civil construction and remediation business, and they are seeking an engineer, from graduate through to Project Engineer, for a flexible base of operations out of FNQ.

Our Client:

Our client is an industry-leading engineering rehabilitation business with a strong history and a track record of continued growth. They focus on re-engineering and extending the life of ageing infrastructure assets by developing and delivering optimised Whole of Life (WOL) solutions.

The business works across APAC and enhances a range of assets from wharves, bridges, buildings to general concrete, steel and timber structures. Their service is mobile, flexible and efficient, and built on quality builds and outcomes.

The position is open to those who have studied a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

The Role:

The Engineer position will assist with allocated projects and technical tasks, aiming to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability.

You’ll be joining a new FNQ office and various on-site locations, so will require good communication with all project stakeholders and action to ensure a safe working environment is maintained, full company compliance is achieved and project deliverables are met including time, budget, safety, quality and environmental objectives.

As part of this role, typical tasks include, but not limited to, onsite quality assurance testing and documentation, onsite condition assessments, assistance with electrochemical protection system installations, report writing, and technical analysis and interpretation of site test data.

The role requires strong communication skills as you’ll be liaising with project stakeholders and action to ensure a safe working environment is maintained, full compliance with the company Management System is achieved and project deliverables are met including time, budget, safety, quality and environmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety, Environment: follow a ‘no harm’ culture and ensure this is maintained on site; conduct site risk assessments & implement appropriate controls; ensure full compliance with OH&S requirements
  • Quality Assurance: work with the PMPs and site quality management plans; full compliance with project specification requirements
  • Financial Performance: meet project budgets with key activity productivities tracked and documented.
  • Project Stakeholders: maintain good communications with all relevant stakeholders and efficient technical resolutions
About You:
  • Relevant experience as a Graduate Engineer or similar role (ideally within remediation or working on remediation projects)
  • 1-5 years' experience working in a civil engineering, remediation or construction environment
  • Preferable tertiary qualification in Engineering (Materials/Civil/Chemical/Mechanical) or Construction Management
  • Alternatively, TAFE qualifications in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil construction
  • Current Australian Drivers License
  • Construction Industry OH&S Induction Card
  • Suitable working Rights (VISA)
  • Knowledge of concrete repair, Cathodic Protection, strengthening and coating techniques
  • Have decision-making processes based on clear thinking and logic, not emotion or guesswork
  • The ability to listen objectively and analyse facts and situations
  • The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • The ability to plan ahead and manage own and others' time
  • The ability to deal with problems quickly, resourcefully and proactively
  • Some Travel requirements
