Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced strategy consultant to lead high-impact engagements in Australia, partnering with senior executives, boards and investors to solve complex strategic challenges.

The role focuses on problem definition, hypothesis-driven analysis, and delivering actionable recommendations with implementation planning. Melbourne or Sydney-based, with exposure to CEOs and senior teams in a smaller, entrepreneurial setting.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5-8+ years of relevant professional experience, including significant strategy consulting experience.
• Experience within a leading strategy consultancy or similarly rigorous strategic environment.
• Excellent quantitative, financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• A strong academic background.
• Candidates from McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Partners in Performance, L.E.K., EY-Parthenon/Port Jackson Partners, Kearney, Oliver Wyman, Strategy& or other high-quality strategy environments are particularly relevant.
• Strong candidates from investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate development or investment backgrounds with equivalent capability are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy engagements from problem definition through to final recommendations and implementation planning.
• Structure complex and ambiguous business problems into clear hypotheses and analytical workstreams.
• Manage and develop small teams of consultants.
• Set the analytical direction of engagements and ensure high-quality commercial and quantitative analysis.
• Deliver growth, market-entry, commercial, pricing and performance-improvement strategies.
• Lead market, competitor, customer and industry analysis.
• Build and review financial models, business cases and commercial assessments.
• Translate complex analysis into clear strategic insights and recommendations.
• Develop and present recommendations to CEOs, executives and other senior stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor junior members of the consulting team.
• Contribute to proposals, business development and new client opportunities.
