Job summary

The ACT Government's Digital Canberra branch is seeking a Communications Officer to join the Communications and Engagement Branch. This full-time temporary role supports development, coordination and delivery of effective communications and engagement activities for stakeholders.

Responsibilities include drafting content for diverse audiences, coordinating engagement events, managing SharePoint pages, and maintaining schedules.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in communications, community engagement, public relations, marketing, media or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Experience with web publishing and SharePoint is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Draft communication and engagement products for different audiences and channels.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to gather accurate content.
• Undertake web publishing and page development using SharePoint.
• Coordinate engagement activities and events both in person and virtually, including scheduling, drafting agendas, invitations/RSVPs, event logistics etc.
• Undertake administrative tasks including track workflows/approvals and deadlines, prepare/format documents and presentations, update templates, etc.
• Maintain a schedule of communication and engagement activities.
• Assist with coordinating communication plans and community engagement programs when required.
