Job summary

Northern Beaches Council, in the Community Engagement & Communications unit, is seeking a permanent Communications Officer on a full-time basis (35 hours per week with an optional 9-day fortnight). The role supports planning and delivery of marketing and communications campaigns to inform residents about services, events and initiatives across multiple channels.

You will write and edit content, manage email campaigns, coordinate approvals, and foster strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, production, public relations or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in communications, public relations or marketing.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills across multiple channels.
• Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms.
• Experience with content management systems and analytics tools.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, delivery and evaluation of marketing and communications campaigns.
• Deliver high-quality communications across paid, earned and owned channels.
• Write and edit engaging content for news stories, website, social media and emails.
• Coordinate content approvals, schedules, database updates and related activities.
• Design, optimise and deliver email campaigns and use analytics to improve performance.
• Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
• Support the planning and production of video content and coordinate photography and design collateral.
• Monitor, measure and report on campaign performance and extract insights.
