Job summary

VMCH invites applications for a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant in Residential Aged Care. You will support residents to engage in meaningful activities, reflecting individual interests, abilities and care needs, under the supervision of the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator.

You’ll foster social engagement, assist with planning activities, and provide care that maintains dignity and privacy. Monday and Tuesday 10:00–16:00 shifts and a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care.
• Experience in aged care is desirable.
• Availability to work Monday and Tuesday 1000 to 1600hrs.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to participate in a range of meaningful leisure and lifestyle activities.
• Assist with planning, organising and facilitating individual and group activities.
• Encourage social engagement, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Support residents living with dementia through activities that maintain independence and familiar routines.
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, volunteers and team members.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive environment.
