VMCH is seeking an enthusiastic Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to support residents in participating in activities aligned with their care plans. You will work with a friendly team to promote healthy lifestyles and maximise engagement among residents, including those with dementia.

The role requires a Certificate III in Leisure and Health (or equivalent), 2+ years in a similar role, and a current First Aid certificate.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a similar role
• Certificate III in Leisure and Health or equivalent
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Experience in an aged care facility
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills

Responsabilités

• Identify engagement opportunities with residents to promote healthy lifestyle practices.
• Organise activities for residents, including those living with dementia, using familiar routines.
• Assess leisure and health needs under guidance of experienced staff.
• Collect information to establish resident needs for leisure and recreation.
• Develop strategies to maximise participation and evaluate effectiveness of activities.
