Job summary

Safe Transport Victoria (ST Vic) seeks an Enforcement Case Officer to support investigations into breaches of transport legislation, with a focus on the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program Scheme. You will work with investigators, lawyers and subject-matter experts to achieve high-quality enforcement outcomes.

Reporting to a Senior Investigator, you will analyze data, maintain case notes, and handle sensitive information while collaborating with regulatory partners to drive effective outcomes.

About the Role

The ST Vic Enforcement Team is a growing operational investigative unit within the Legal, Governance and Enforcement Branch, conducting complex criminal, fraud and regulatory investigations across Victoria’s commercial passenger vehicle, bus and maritime industries.

Reporting to a Senior Investigator, the Enforcement Case Officer supports investigation activities into alleged breaches of transport legislation, with a particular focus on assessing information, analysing data and reviewing activity associated with the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program Scheme.

You will work collaboratively with investigators, senior investigators, lawyers and subject-matter experts to support high-quality investigative and enforcement outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting criminal, fraud and regulatory investigations, including the assessment and review of MPTP Scheme member usage.
• Assessing and analysing intelligence, data and other information to identify issues and support investigations.
• Maintaining accurate case notes and records using approved digital case management and record management systems.
• Delivering high-quality and consistent service across phone, email and digital channels and supporting timely resolution of enquiries.
• Handling sensitive personal and investigative information professionally and appropriately.
• Working collaboratively with regulatory partners, law enforcement agencies and internal stakeholders to support investigative outcomes.
• Contributing ideas to improve investigative practices, technology, procedures and operational capability.

About You

You will be analytical, organised and comfortable working with detailed information and data in a regulatory or investigative environment.

You will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program Scheme or another government subsidy scheme, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge, together with an understanding of legal documentation and processes within a regulatory, compliance or investigation environment.

You will also demonstrate:

Experience reviewing documentary and digital evidence, together with experience in fraud, compliance, accounting or fraud analysis, will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

Qualifications, or an appropriate combination of qualifications and experience, are highly desirable.

Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check and Baseline Security Clearance.

Experience and working knowledge of the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program Scheme or other government subsidy schemes and associated technology systems is essential.

The role may involve exposure to sensitive, confidential or confronting material and requires a high level of discretion and professionalism. Additional security clearance processes may apply.
