Job summary

Amber Electric is seeking a Software Engineer in Melbourne to join a fast-growing Product & Technology team. You will work on mobile and web apps, a real-time pricing engine, and home automation integrations using React Native, React, TypeScript, and AWS Lambda serverless backend.

Qualifications

• You have a positive mindset: equal parts curious, collaborative, and can-do.
• Between two and six years of commercial development experience in either Web or Mobile environments.
• At least one of: experience with modern software delivery practices OR domain experience in energy or IoT automation.
• Commercial experience with the specific technologies in our stack is a strong plus; experience with languages related to TypeScript is a plus (e.g., JavaScript, C#, Go).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills grounded in empathy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain high quality program code across the stack in your area of specialty.
• Flexibly contribute outside your specialty in other areas of the stack to support your team.
• Collaborate with peers in product and across the company to ensure shipping the right thing the right way at the right time.
• Research, consult, analyse and evaluate system requirements.
• Test, debug, diagnose and correct errors in the tech stack per operational specifications.
• Support the app across the full lifecycle from idea to production.
