Job summary

Bradman Carbon & Renewable Energy in Australia is seeking an Energy Markets and Trading Manager to lead daily trading of its NEM assets and shape trading strategies.

You will oversee outsourced 24/7 trading and settlements, manage PPAs, liaise with offtake counterparties, and analyse market data to drive commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Up to 10 years of broad Energy Markets experience.
• Strong understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM), wholesale pricing, settlements and risk exposures.
• Experience managing outsourced providers or service agreements is valuable.
• Renewable and storage asset operations and trading characteristics familiarity.
• Familiarity with AEMO systems, data sources and APIs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage daily trading activities of operational assets in the NEM.
• Oversee performance and compliance of outsourced 24/7 trading and settlement services.
• Oversee Power Purchase Agreements and liaise with offtake counterparties.
• Analyse market data and contribute to trading strategy development.
• Set up and manage a trading function (not a team) within the business.

• A multi GW Solar, Wind & BESS portfolio, inc. development & operational assets
• Specialist developer with significant financial backing run by industry veterans
• Newcastle, Sydney or Melbourne based role (off shift with no direct reports)

Your new company

Backed by an investment manager, they are a specialist clean energy Developer & IPP who have a number of large-scale Solar, Wind and BESS assets in VIC with several gigawatts of power projects in the pipeline. This company is undergoing a period of enormous growth with plans to double their team in the next 6 months and significantly scale their platform.

Your new role

Support our client’s participation in the NEM by setting up and managing the daily trading activities of its operational assets. You will eventually manage the performance and compliance of an outsourced provider of 24/7 trading and settlement services, you will oversee Power Purchase Agreements and liaise with offtake counterparties, analyse market data, and contribute to the development of trading strategies. The role will set up and manage a function and not a team.

Who you are

Up to 10 years of broad Energy Markets experience and a strong understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM), wholesale pricing, settlements, and risk exposures from an energy trading, electricity markets, or risk management environment. If you have experience managing outsourced providers or service agreements, that's great. If you have analytical modelling skills combined with strategy and commercial nous, that's also great.

Experience with renewable and storage asset operations and trading characteristics (e.g., intermittency, FCAS, hybrid strategies) and familiarity with AEMO systems, data sources, and APIs are all desirable.
