Job summary

Optiver is seeking a Technical Recruiter to advance our end-to-end experienced recruitment strategy for technology talent. You will partner with engineering leaders and hiring managers to identify, engage and hire top engineers, data scientists and platform specialists.

You’ll design sourcing strategies, leverage AI tools, and coach stakeholders on hiring practices while ensuring a high-performing, collaborative culture that moves quickly in a fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end experienced recruiter with a focus on technology hiring.
• Background from a leading tech company or financial services/trading firm where tech recruitment was primary.
• Hybrid-capable: comfortable stepping into non-tech searches without losing specialist edge.
• Early adopter of AI in day-to-day work; hands-on with Cursor, Claude Code or similar.
• Curious and high-agency; capable of scripting prompts to solve recurring problems.
• Consultative, organized, data-literate and comfortable with platforms like Greenhouse and LinkedIn Recruiter.
• Full Australian working rights essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end recruitment process for technology roles: sourcing strategies, headhunting niche engineering talent, screening, interviewing and closing candidates.
• Flex into non-technology experienced hiring when needed.
• Build strong partnerships with engineering leaders, hiring managers and external agency partners.
• Design innovative ways to identify and engage passive technical talent (open source, conferences, competitor mapping).
• Embed AI into the recruitment workflow using tools like Cursor and Claude Code to accelerate sourcing and reporting.
• Coaching, guiding and advising stakeholders on hiring processes and best practices.
• Use data to provide insight into pipeline health and drive decisions.
