Job summary

Challenge Community Services is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist clients with disabilities across Newcastle/Maitland. You will deliver in-home and community supports, helping clients build daily living skills and confidence through tailored activities.

Applicants should have a Certificate III/IV in Disability Support (or equivalent) and hold WWCC/NDIS checks. Flexible rosters, training opportunities, and a supportive team environment are offered.

• Flexible availability including weekends and sleepovers.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily living and medical needs where required.
• Encourage independence and skill-building through activities like cooking, crafts, music, sports, and reading.
• Provide in-home and community-based support tailored to individual goals.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families.
• Handle challenges with empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Actively support participants in outdoor activities and crafts such as sewing and knitting.
