Job summary

The Rockhampton Grammar School in Rockhampton QLD is seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide – Student Support (Primary) to assist classroom teachers, prepare engaging resources and support individual and small group activities to foster student growth.

Two positions are available: a fixed-term role beginning 6 October 2026 and permanent roles starting 15 January 2027, with various part-time 30-hour-per-week schedules across Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check.
• Police Check.
• Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent previous work experience

Responsibilities

• Clerical assistance: typing teachers' notes and work programs, duplicating materials, organizing exam papers, recording results, compiling student records.
• Assist in supervising educational activities and conduct 1:1 or small group work with defined goals.
• Prepare, store, make available and clear away teaching equipment and materials.
• Assist with playground duties, bus supervision, sporting activities, and school excursions.
• Support welfare and safety including delivery of basic First Aid.
• Listen to students reading, assist with science demonstrations, and help locate reference material.
• Provide library assistance and help students locate and borrow books.
• Take photographs with a digital camera and print as required.
• Carry out other reasonable non-professional duties as directed by teachers and Head of Primary.

Education

Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent
