Job summary

Mount Warrigal Public School is seeking a School Learning Support Officer to assist in preschool settings, supporting students with identified learning needs under the direction of a teacher. This role focuses on student welfare and health activities and may involve pre-school, vision, hearing, and bilingual support streams.

The successful applicant will be working toward or hold an ACECQA Certificate III in Children's Services or Early Childhood Education and Care, have a Working with Children

Qualifications

• On appointment must be working towards or hold an ACECQA approved Certificate III in Children's Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education and a willingness to undertake first aid training relevant to the School Learning Support Officer role.
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs (subject to transition provisions).

Responsibilities

• Support for students with identified diverse learning needs including disability in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction of a teacher.
• Provide student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide specific support for students in streams/settings: pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual.
• Demonstrate suitability and ongoing compliance with NSW policies; work as part of a team.
