Job summary

Mind Australia is seeking a self-motivated LGBTIQA+ Youth Peer Practitioner for a Permanent, Part Time (22.5 hrs per week) role in the Latrobe region. This position engages clients using lived experience to foster recovery, mutuality, and human rights.

You will work closely with families and community services, champion voice of lived experience, and participate in program co-design and evaluation to improve service delivery.

Qualifications

Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/ or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
Lived/living experience and willingness to support clients through sharing your own learnings.
Identify as LGBTIQA+ young person and share learnings to support recovery.

Responsibilities

Draw on lived experience to inform practice within the LGBTIQA+ community.
Support holistically, including intersecting factors like substance use, trauma, and social inclusion.
Collaborate with Relationships and Family Engagement worker to support families and carers.
