Job summary

Volunteering Gold Coast Inc. is seeking a Direct Care Support Worker to deliver high-quality, person-centred care across the Gold Coast region. You will assist clients with daily living activities and help them engage with community activities, promoting independence and safety.

The role requires a valid QLD driver’s licence, First Aid/CPR, Blue Card, and direct care experience. You will work with families and carers to support individual needs in the community.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted QLD driver's licence with clean driving record and access to a registered vehicle.
• Current First Aid and CPR (training provided for new/out of date qualifications).
• Blue and Yellow Card.
• Experience in a direct care role, personally and/or professionally.
• Commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of clients.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• A qualification in a relevant area/field or lived experience.
• An understanding of the Queensland Community Support Scheme.

Responsibilities

• Support a caseload of clients across the Gold Coast region by delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Assist with daily living activities such as domestic duties (cleaning and meal preparation), grocery shopping, bill payments, and attending appointments.
• Facilitate participation in community activities that align with each client’s interests.
• Tailor support to meet the unique needs of each individual, promoting independence and wellbeing.
