Job summary

Clayton Utz in Sydney is seeking a talented Lawyer to join our leading Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety (WRES) team. You will work closely with Partner Amanda Lyras, handling complex employment matters and high-stakes advisory work while developing your career in this space.

Our WRES team serves a blue-chip client base across private and public sectors, advising on strategic matters, employee disputes, whistleblowing, investigations, discrimination, and post-employment restraints.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years PQE across employment law and workplace relations within a reputable firm.
• Strong academic record.
• Ability to manage a diverse workload with autonomy while being collaborative.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for employment law and ongoing professional development.
• Interest in contributing to business development and client relationships.
• Commitment to continuous professional development to meet evolving client needs.

Responsibilities

• Advise on strategic and sensitive employment matters.
• Represent employee disputes across Courts and Tribunals (private and public sector).
• Handle whistleblowing matters and workplace investigations.
• Address discrimination and harassment issues and post-employment restraints.
• Engage in employment aspects of corporate transactions and WHS matters.
• Support career progression and contribute to firm growth and client profiles.
