Job summary

Naiman Clarke in Sydney is seeking a Lawyer/Associate to join its employment practice. The role targets 2-5+ PQE and offers growth rather than a fixed band, with mentoring from respected employment partners and exposure to high-value matters for employers and senior executives.

You will advise on advisory and contentious matters, draft court documents, and work with counsel on cases in Federal Court; success is judged by merit and performance, with opportunities to shape your own career path.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years PQE in employment, workplace or industrial law.
• Confident and able to communicate with clients.
• Empathetic and strong-willed.
• Wants ownership of their work and advice.

Responsibilities

• Advising employers on advisory, contentious and strategic workplace matters in employment law, industrial relations law, work health and safety law, and discrimination law
• Preparing documents for and attending proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and the Australian Human Rights Commission
• Drafting Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court documents, including affidavits, concise statements, witness statements, and interlocutory applications
• Working with and instruct counsel for matters running to the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court
• Advising high net worth clients regarding their employment law issues
• Conducting legal research into the latest updates in employment and discrimination law
