Job summary

Naiman Clarke, a national law firm with a leading employment law team, is seeking a 2-5 PQE lawyer to join its employment practice in Sydney. This growth role offers ownership of advisory, contentious and strategic matters and a strong pipeline of work.

You will advise employers, prepare documents for proceedings, draft court filings, and work with counsel on matters in federal courts while developing your career in employment law within a merit-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years PQE in employment, workplace or industrial law or related field.
• Confident communicator with clients.

Responsibilities

• Advising employers on advisory, contentious and strategic workplace matters in employment, industrial relations, health & safety and discrimination law.
• Preparing documents for and attending proceedings in Fair Work Commission and AHRC.
• Drafting Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court documents including affidavits and statements.
• Working with instructing counsel on matters in Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court.
• Advising high net worth clients on employment law issues.
• Conducting legal research on updates in employment and discrimination law.

About the role:

The firm is seeking a 2-5 PQE lawyer or associate (title commensurate on experience) to join its employment practice. This is not a replacement role, but a growth role given the increased volume of employment law work.

You will be responsible for:

• Advising employers on a variety of advisory, contentious and strategic workplace matters in employment law, industrial relations law, work health and safety law, and discrimination law
• Preparing documents for and attending proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and the Australian Human Rights Commission
• Drafting Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court documents, including affidavits, concise statements, witness statements, and interlocutory applications
• Working with and instruct counsel for matters running to the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court
• Advising high net worth clients regarding their employment law issues
• Conducting legal research into the latest updates in employment and discrimination law
