Job summary

Sureway Employment in Warburton is seeking an Employment Consultant for a permanent part-time role, 3 days per week at the Warburton site. You will support participants toward employment, build relationships with local employers, and promote individual strengths to match suitable roles.

The role emphasizes engaging people, staying organized, and maintaining momentum, even when challenges arise. Prior industry experience isn’t required; curiosity and initiative are valued highly.

Responsibilities

• Working one-on-one with participants to set clear employment goals and action plans.
• Actively building relationships with local employers to create job opportunities.
• Promoting participants’ strengths and matching them to suitable roles.
• Supporting participants before and after placement to ensure sustainable employment.
• Identifying barriers and coordinating support services or training where needed.
• Managing your own caseload, priorities and follow-ups to keep things moving.
• Maintaining accurate records and meeting program compliance requirements.
• Representing Sureway in the local community to build awareness and connections.

Right now, we are in the middle of something exciting. Ourteam is growing, and we have a permanent part-time position, working 3 days aweek at Sureway Warburton site. This isn’t a role we have had sitting empty,this is a position created because we are doing more and we need good peoplearound us to do it well.

About the Role

As an Employment Consultant, you will support your caseloadof participants to take ownership of their journey to work. You will buildrelationships, identify opportunities, and actively connect participants withemployers.

You will partner with people with a disability to understandtheir goals, build their confidence and skills, and actively connect them withemployers. Success in this role comes from your ability to engage people, stayorganised, and keep momentum especially when things get challenging.

You don’t need direct industry experience, but you do needto be curious, proactive, and willing to learn quickly. We’re looking forpeople who come prepared, take initiative, and back themselves to build strongrelationships in the community.
