Job summary

Jetstar Airways is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to join the Jetstar People team. The role, based at Jetstar HQ in Docklands with hybrid work, is 12-month fixed-term and full-time.

You will provide ER capability across Jetstar’s operational portfolios, handling complex employee relations matters, disputes and compliance projects while advising business leaders on risk and decisions. The role spans strategic and hands-on work across frontline leaders and IR strategy, with duties including

Qualifications

• Strong experience in complex employee relations and case management.
• Demonstrated experience managing disputes and union relationships.
• Strong capability in complex case management and employment law application.
• Experience appearing before, or preparing matters for, the Fair Work Commission.
• The ability to influence and partner effectively with senior operational leaders.
• A pragmatic, solutions focused approach to managing risk while supporting business outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ER/IR matters clearly and confidently.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust in fast paced environments.

Job description

• Be part of the Jetstar People team supporting critical operational workgroups across critical operational portfolios
• Manage complex employee relations cases, disputes and compliance-related projects
• Fulltime, 12-month fixed term opportunity based at Jetstar HQ, Docklands– hybrid working arrangements

As an Employee Relations Manager, you will provide additional ER capability across Jetstar’s operational portfolios. Working flexibly across Cabin Crew, Engineering and other areas as demand arises, you will support complex employee relations matters in a highly regulated, unionised and operationally sensitive environment.Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you will manage complex employee relations cases, disputes and compliance-related projects, while providing clear, pragmatic advice to business leaders, managers and HR. You will operate as a trusted adviser, influencing stakeholders and helping them understand risk while recognising that final decisions sit with the business.

This role offers the opportunity to operate at both a strategic and hands‑on level, supporting frontline operational leaders while contributing to longer term IR strategy for the business.

To be considered for this role, key skills will include:

• Strong experience in complex employee relations and case management, ideally gained within a large and complex organisation
• Demonstrated experience managing disputes and union relationships
