Job summary

Environmental Resources Management is seeking an Early Career Aboriginal Heritage Consultant to join the NSW/ACT Heritage Team. You will help prepare cultural heritage assessments, manage stakeholder engagement, and participate in field surveys across Sydney, Canberra or Newcastle.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with honours in Aboriginal archaeology/history/anthropology, NSW heritage knowledge, and 1–2 years field experience. Travel across NSW and interstate is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years field experience in New South Wales.
• Knowledge of NSW heritage legislation and Aboriginal consultation processes.
• Ability to work respectfully with Traditional Owners during field operations.
• Experience with Due Diligences and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessments is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel across NSW and interstate for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cultural heritage assessments and management plans.
• Lead Aboriginal stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
• Conduct exciting field surveys and document findings in reports.
• Contribute to research and compilation of heritage reports.
• Coordinate field operations with team members and clients.
