Job summary

Ravenswood Gold Pty Ltd in Ravenswood, QLD, is seeking an experienced Emergency Services Officer to lead crisis readiness, coordinate first aid and security across our mining leases. This on-site role combines emergency management with workforce training and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Formal emergency management qualifications with mining or heavy industry exposure.
• Experience in training delivery and workforce development is desirable.
• Experience in pre-hospital care and site safety management.

Responsibilities

• Act as first responder to site and community incidents.
• Provide pre-hospital care and clinical support alongside site nurses.
• Develop, deliver and track emergency training packages for the site.
• Conduct inspections of fire systems, extinguishers and emergency equipment.
• Monitor site perimeters, conduct plant checks and drug/alcohol testing.
• Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification and incident investigations.

Summary:

AtRavenswood Gold, safety isn't just a policy—it's our operational core. We are seeking an experiencedEmergency Services Officer (ESO)to champion crisis preparedness, provide critical incident response, and maintain site security across our leases.

This role offers a unique balance of emergency management, workforce training, and community engagement, making it an excellent opportunity for a dedicated safety professional looking to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Emergency & Medical Response: Act as a first responder to site and community incidents.
• Provide high-quality pre-hospital care and clinical support alongside site Registered Nurses.
• Training Delivery: Develop, deliver, and track emergency training packages. Facilitate training days to keep the Emergency Response Team (ERT) site-ready.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections of fire systems, extinguishers, and site emergency equipment in line with statutory Australian Standards.
• Site Security & Access: Monitor site perimeters, conduct plant/equipment checks, administer fitness-for-work (drug & alcohol) testing, and perform night-shift camp walkarounds for noise compliance.
• Incident Investigation: Assist with risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

About you:

• TAE40116Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
• RII30719Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue
• CPP31318Certificate 3 in Security Operations
• Certificate IVin Emergency Medical Response (or equivalent)
• HLTAID011(First Aid) &HLTAID015(Advanced Resuscitation)
• Previous experience in mining, resources, or pre-hospital emergency services

Highly Desirable:

• Evidence of skills and competencies supporting crisis and emergency response background
• Demonstrated experience in training program delivery and workforce development
