Job summary

CFA is seeking a Qualified Motor Mechanic for a full-time fixed-term role in our Moe workshop. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and approved modifications on CFA fleet assets in a clean environment, with tools, PPE, and uniform provided.

Hours are 7:15am to 4:15pm, Monday to Friday, with a 9-day fortnight. Grade 1a District Mechanical Officers undertake mechanical tasks under the Officer-in-Charge, ensuring safety standards and CFA maintenance procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Must have Motor Mechanic Qualification and Heavy Rigid Driver Licence.
• Ability to work safely at an incident scene and render assistance if required (First Aid L2).
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the workshop OIC, carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications to fleet assets.
• Ensure fleet assets are maintained in accordance with CFA procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation on work performed.
• Create electronic Work Orders using CFA software.
• Liaise with Brigade members regarding proposed work and completed tasks.
• Maintain reporting to the Officer-in-Charge on maintenance, admin and technical matters.
• Ensure Industrial Safety Standards are observed.
