Job summary

CFA Cranbourne Workshop is seeking a District Mechanical Officer – Leading Hand to maintain and service CFA fleet assets. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance in a well‑organized workshop, with tools, PPE, and a 9‑day fortnight.

The role requires a Motor Mechanic Qualification and Heavy Rigid Licence, plus the ability to guide apprentices and liaise with the OIC. Hours are 7:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must hold Motor Mechanic Qualification and Heavy Rigid Licence.
• Experience in maintenance of CFA fleet assets is preferred.
• Ability to work safely at incidents and in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on CFA fleet assets.
• Supervise junior staff and apprentices as required.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
• Create electronic Work Orders using CFA software.
• Liaise with Brigade members and OICs on planned work.
• Comply with Industrial Safety Standards.
